What the extension does
Skills Shift Live Coach is a Chrome extension that gives private, real-time soft-skills coaching during supported online meetings. The extension is captions-first: it watches visible meeting captions and speaker cues from the meeting tab selected by the user, then sends relevant meeting context to Skills Shift so AI coaching prompts and session reviews can be generated.
The extension is designed to support the learner during the meeting. It is not a meeting bot, it does not join meetings as a participant, and it does not record meeting audio or video in this UAT build.
Information we collect or process
When the learner connects a meeting and starts listening, the extension may process visible captions, speaker names or speaker hints shown in the meeting interface, meeting page title and URL, prompt history, session review content, extension status events, and optional debug logs used during UAT.
Debug logs may include caption candidates, caption send or suppress decisions, prompt lifecycle events, speaker detection events, AI request and response status, and local extension state needed to diagnose UAT issues.
How we use the information
We use this information only to provide the Live Coach experience: monitoring meeting captions, deciding whether there is a useful coaching moment, showing short private prompts, generating a private session review when requested, supporting troubleshooting, and attributing AI usage to the correct Skills Shift user or organisation.
We do not sell this information. We do not use it for advertising, credit decisions, lending decisions, or purposes unrelated to Skills Shift live coaching and learning support.
AI processing
Skills Shift may send transcript snippets, prompt history, and session context to approved AI providers so coaching prompts and session reviews can be generated. We send the minimum meeting context needed for the coaching task.
AI outputs are returned to the learner privately in the extension side panel or overlay. During UAT, admins may use exported debug logs to investigate product issues when the learner or tester chooses to share those logs.
Local storage and retention
The extension stores session state locally in Chrome extension storage so it can show the current prompt, transcript snippets, prompt history, user preferences, and optional debug logs during the session.
The learner or admin can clear transcript content, prompt history, session review content, and debug logs from the extension. UAT debug logs are capped to recent entries and are intended for troubleshooting rather than long-term record keeping.
Who can see the information
Live coaching prompts are private to the learner using the extension. Other meeting participants do not see the extension side panel or overlay unless the learner shares their full browser window or screen.
Skills Shift may process submitted meeting context on its servers to provide AI coaching and usage attribution. Organisation administrators may see usage and cost attribution information, but the Live Coach design is intended to avoid exposing raw meeting content unless the learner or tester explicitly shares exported logs or review material for support.
Your choices
The learner chooses when to connect a meeting tab and when to start or stop listening. Captions can be turned off in the meeting tool, and the extension can be stopped at any time.
The learner can clear local session information in the extension. If you need help with privacy requests, contact the Skills Shift team through your organisation administrator or at support@skills-shift.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Live Coach feature moves from UAT toward production. Material changes will be reflected on this page before the extension is submitted for wider release.
